Yankee 5 - Dodger 3

In a game played by each team with shortened rosters the Dodger played a scrappy
game till the end and even had to play with only 8 players in the end which may have cost them a chance for the upset. Ed Rodgers pitched a very crafty game keeping the Yankees off balance and kept his team in the game Dave Latina was the hero for the Yanks with a bases clearing double which gave the Yankees the lead in the 5th inning. Ken Zimmer pitched a great game and had it not been for
errors may have had a shutout. I will be in trouble if I don't mention Wayne Newcomb I'll never hear the end of it as he had several key hits to get us going.

This was a really tight game and my hat goes off to the Dodgers as they really are a class team as represented by their new manager Ed Rodgers.

Yeah, and for the record he got rid of that rightfielder that "misplayed" Dave's double...

Thanks for the kind words and have a great winter

But beware next year will be 1955
