47 commissioner

The 47 division is seeking a commissioner.
After four years, I am stepping down at the end of my current term, which expires Oct. 31. I will stay on to assist in the transition.

This job requires time and patience. Candidates will be availed to the many facets and responsibilities the job entails when they are interviewed.

This division just completed its fourth year. It started with four teams; it now has seven with a strong possibility of an eighth for 2007. This division is still my passion. It's an ever-evolving division that is slowly becoming extremely competitive. I'd venture to say this division will have as many teams as the other divisions in the next three to four years, and we are seeking a strong, yet patient and thought-provoking individual to take us to the next level.

The candidate chosen will be working with some hard-working managers who have a passion for baseball, and for fairness and the rules that govern the division. The new commissioner will serve them to the best of their ability, yet use his people skills and judgment to make tough decisions based on the best interest of the division.

I, for one, would prefer the commissioner NOT be a manager in the division. I believe it to be a conflict of interest. We already have too much of that with crossovers from board members to officers to managers to commissioners, a hierarchy that is a whole new topic for our league's annual meeting.
All persons interested, however, are encouraged to apply. My beliefs don't mean a manager won't be selelcted.

Anyone interested should let me know quickly so I can call a meeting to discuss all the candidates and set up interviews with with the managers and our league president, John Reel.
You can email me at jrbtc@aaaahwk.com or call me at 461-7850 or 434-8629.

Thanks
Jim Konstantakis

Jim,

I would like to say thanks for all of your efforts on behalf of our division. From the first time I contacted you three years ago until now you have represented the league well and with an obvious passion for the league, the division and the game of baseball.

Thanks for all the time, effort and energy that you have invested to provide us with the opportunity to play the game we all love.

I would say that the next commissioner has some "Big shoes" to fill but I might have to think of a more appropriate analogy to communicate the same sentiment!

Larry
