The Yankees rode the strong pitching of Ken Zimmer who gave up only 2 hits in a complete game performance against a tough Marlin team. This was a complete game for the Yankees with a strong defense as well as timely hitting. Paul Celantano led the way with 3 hits and 1 RBI and played a strong 3rd base.
Dennis Scimenca pitched very well and kept his team in the game. This is the first of a 2 out 3 championship and both teams are poised for a great 2nd game tommorow at New Scotland Park at 12 noon.
