More baseball!!!!!!!!!

Just when you thought the season was over ...
And maybe it is, but ...
Since the 28 division is having its all-star game on Saturday Oct. 21 at the Commons, I had another idea. Another all-star game - with a twist!!!

The 47 all-stars vs. the 38 all-stars as a prelim to the 28s. With a couple of stips: 1) Anyone 47 or older MUST play with the 47 division. 2) No pitcher can throw more than three innings. 3) A minimum three pitchers must be used (duh)!

The problem I see is who makes the teams. There is a lot of talent out there.
I'm thinking rosters of 12-14, but both teams MUST have the same number of players and ALL players must play. Despite being a 38 manager, I make the challenge to the 38s as my final act as 47 commissioner. We're as good as the 38 division!!! Bring it on Girard!!! Perhaps we can choose two captawins and have them recruit their own teams with a stip that each team is represented by at least one player. All these are suggestions and open for discussion. We have a week and a half to organize, and Dalton is already aware so we can get umps there.

Also, the 2 teams going to Fla (Artie and Reel's 45 team), could play at 11 a.m.
The 38s vs. 47s at 1:30 and the 28s at 4, starting with their HR Derby. We can use the lights at the Commons, too. And anyone going to Fla who is also on the all-star team gets to play in two games.

The field will cost us $30 a game, plus umpires.

I sent this message to some of the powers to be and have gotten no response. So, I guess we can do this with financial considerations considered.

Thoughts?

I think that sounds great and you are short.

Sorry, only all-star calibre players are allowed to insult me!

Besides, you still find a way to hit me when I face you.
I guess that says you have great control.

Seriously, I'm glad you like the idea. I hope we get a good response.

Actually, this is something we used to do a few years ago before the 47's started - it was the 38's vs. the 28's and if someone made both all star teams they had to play the older division. Also, this was something the league paid for...

Here is a shock!
I'm in!
Mr. K, I hope you will stay around to throw some in the HR Derby.
My apologies to Mr. Ansel, who threw quite well to me in this past weekend's HR Derby, but I think about 50% of the strikes that you have ever thrown to me have traveled 400 feet or more.
Let's do it! This weekend is going to be way too cold, but the temps are supposed to rebound some next week. I can get in on all three games. That will probably help with the marital problems, right?!

John Reel's Florida Classic team is very interested in playing Artie's 47+ team at 11:00am on Saturday at the Commons. Artie please confirm that you can field a team. You guys only had 4 or 5 guys show up yesterday at New Scotland. It lloks like Saturday should be fine weatherwise, but if you can't get 8 or 9 guys, then we will move our weekend workout to Sunday afternoon. Jimmy K, once Artie confirms, can you make the field arrangements?

How are things coming along for a 38 vs. 48 game?
