NY's 20 Congressional District

Gentlemen. I thought this may be of some interest to folks in here. Eric Sundwall was running for US Congress (NY 20th District) on the Libertarian ticket. Mr. Sundwall played in the CDMSBL a few years back with the Cardinals.

This is what Answers.com said about Eric Sundwall:

Eric Sundwall is the Libertarian Party endorsed candidate. He is a partner and co-founder of Old Kinderhook Integrated, a computer consulting company. His campaign has attracted national attention and is the second largest Libertarian Congressional candidacy in the country (based on FEC filings) behind only Michael Badnarik, the 2004 Libertarian Presidential candidate and now Congressional candidate in Texas.

Sundwall received a degree in Political Science and History from the State University of New York at Albany. He spent time in Copenhagen studying and did a year of work with the Internet's first accredited law school, Concord. He has served as a volunteer fireman in two local companies. He currently serves on the New York and national Libertarian Party committees.

The Sundwall campaign has incorporated features like a blog and web video into its campaign website. As a third party candidate, Sundwall hopes to raise awareness about ballot access rights. A Libertarian generally supports free markets, personal freedom and often advocates a non-interventionist foreign policy. Sundwall is calling on Congress to "declare war" according to the U.S. Constitution when invading any nation.

Sundwall's positions were challenged on August 28th by three individuals with no obvious connection to the race. In an interesting twist, Sundwall is being represented pro bono on these challenges by Warren Redlich, an attorney in Albany and the Republican candidate for Congress in New York's 21st congressional district. These events are discussed on the blogs on Sundwall's and Redlich's campaign websites.

Here is Mr. Sundwall's site: http://www.sundwall4congress.org/

Due to some hitches, Mr. Sundwall was removed from the ballot in NY's 20th Congressional District. We are now left with either Gillibrand or Sweeney. 'tis a pity as Mr. Sundwall seemed a reasonable alternative to the two-party machine, but it appears as though (yet again) we are left without a choice.
