Saw your posting, our Cubs team is in need of a pitcher. I think we were one arm short of winning a heck of a lot more ball games. We are a new team in that last year was our first season. Our 11-9 record is deceptive because we didn't have enough arms to gun the top two team down. We lost both games to the Orioles and the Pirates, and did a good job winning games we should have.

Our manager is Dennis Maille and he is very easy going and one of my closest friends. We have a very close team, so we would like to talk to you if you want. We are a family oriented team, most of us bring our wives and kids to the games and expect our teammates to act in a way that does not embarass our families or our team.

We are a very competitive team who want to win but everyone plays, contibutes, and I think had a great season. Do you play any other positions beside pitcher? What are you looking for in a team? Our website is www.capitaldistrictcubs.com if you want to look at the Motley Crew that we are. This is the best team I have ever played for in terms of the game itself, the comraderie, and teamates. Give me a shout if your interested in talking.

Dennis just had a baby so he will be a few days getting in touch. I'll let him know I emailed you.

Saw your posting, we are starting a new team and we are in need of a pitcher. We offer a fresh start and a new and fun, yet winning attitude that we hope to inject into the league. We have a few players that are original members of the Harlem Shasky's, a team from NYC formed in 1995. Check out the website at http://www.harlemshaskys.com/shaskys24.swf Look under the team bios for "Snuffy", "Stretch", and "Ace". The Shasky's are still going strong, and every year we play an intra-squad game at Abner Doubleday Field in Cooperstown which never fails to astound and entertain the many spectators that are drawn to the buzz surrounding the event in that town every year. The last three years I have taken players from the Capital District to participate in that game and all have come away with a great experience and a very warm feeling from just one game of Shasky style baseball. It can't be explained fully in writing - I would love to tell you about it over the phone or in person. Give me a call before you make a decision, I really believe a great place to start with this league is with a new and special team that is making a fresh start of things.

Thank You,

Tony "Ace" Grocki

p.S. I'll explain the nickname thing when we speak 452-3604

Hi, I emailed you several days ago. Manager of the Peppers here - we are certainly interested. Have not heard back from you after that email.

Email me back if interested - we have been in the league quite a few years - I am new manager -taking over for the 2007 season from Mike Hart (who will still be a player on Peppers).

Hope to hear from you.

Ed Obertubbesing
