Doubleheader day!
(Preview)
Game 1 saw the Cubs facing a stacked team from Orlando. The Cubs had to balance the need of winning the game versus saving pitching for the playoffs. Jim Konstantakis took the ball for the Cubs and kept the Orlando Royals baffled for the first 4 innings, giving up just one unearned run in the 3rd inning. T...

baseballs in use the last 2 years.
(Preview)
Hello all its Mike Reutter with a brief message to all. I have been playing in this league now for over 15 years and don't complain about much but I have to speak my peace. The baseballs we are playing with are absolute garbage in the 55's. I never had a problem with the ROCK balls we played with all those yea...

62 Pirates have roster openings!!
(Preview)
The 62-Pirates are in the process of a rebuild. With expansion of the 62 Division of 1 - 2 new teams, the Pirates have had some free agency movement to the new teams, and now have roster openings available. In particular, MI and Ps would go to the front of the line, but all positions would be a help and welco...

After the Union College men's team finished their spirited practice, the Yanks and Cubs got down to business. The Cubs got off to a flying start in the top of the 5th when Andy Hoyle and Ron Massaroni worked walks to lead off the inning. Jim McQuade followed with a perfect sacrifice bunt, moving both run...

Game 2 of the finals is suspended after 4 complete innings.
(Preview)
The weather was not very cooperative last night at the A-Diamond, for game 2 of the finals. The first two innings were played in cold and blustery conditions and rain was added for innings 3 and 4. It was the same for both teams, and both teams ignored the conditions and pushed through, making the best of...

Game one of the 55+ Finals is in the books.
(Preview)
Game one at the A-Diamond last night was exactly what was expected. Two teams with very strong batting orders going up against two of the league's best pitchers. The pitchers won their share of battles, but so did the hitters. For the 3rd time in 3 playoff games, the Cubs opponents jumped out to an early...

Haymakers recruiting for 2025 over-62 season
(Preview)
Folks: Some time ago, I learned from league president John Reel that he expected there to be a "tsunami" of players, twenty or more, coming up from the over-55s to the over-62s for the 2025 season. That appears to be happening and the numbers are far more than the current six-team league can accommodat...
