We arrived in Fla. with great optimism believing the playoffs would be a shoe-in. Loaded with guys from Dutchess County who had won rings in the past, and players from St. Louis, Seattle and Milwaukee, the hornets were poised to make a run. But ya' know - crap happens! Our No. 4 hitter and top pitcher had...

Teddy forgot to pick up his black Mizzuno glove after Sunday's championship loss. He lives down there, so if somebody now playing in the 52's has it, call his cell @ 352 428-4963, and he'll pick it up, and throw some innings for you. Thanks , and good luck. Jonny Martin

Don Lawyer, a long-time CDUA and SBUO umpire passed away recently. The last few years he has worked numerous CDMSBL games at the older age division. He was a colorful person on and off the field who loved to tell stories of the old days. His obituary can be found in the Schenectady Gazette. Todd

When the Albany Marlins showed up at the fields Saturday morning, they found out that the St. Louis White Sox had upset the Tampa Bay Rebels in Friday night's late game. That meant that the Marlins were going to need to win both games on Saturday. Had the Rebels beaten the White Sox, then the Marlins woul...

The Albany Marlins played their worst game ever losing game one 13-4, but followed with one of their best in a 8-2 win over a local Tampa Bay team with one addition (Joe Careccia). This leaves the Marlins with a big task . . . win vs. the Savannah Triad in game three Saturday morning and win your way into the...

Anybody have an update on Bobby Bolt? Never met a pilot who was also a psychologist, but you sure mess with my head when I'm at the plate. Best of health! -- Edited by KegHead at 09:29, 2008-11-05

Good luck Gents in the Fall Classic! Sure would be nice to take our wife on a Caribbean vacation AND be able to play ball, huh? February is a few weeks away, but what a time to shake those winter blues! I'll obviously post more details, but here's the Reader's Digest: 2/10-2/17 Non-stop flights o...

I'm the manager of the Vets, yes I admit it. We are in the process of rebuilding. We have already made significant changes, by the process of subtracting and adding. I need just two more quality players. So if you are looking to join a team that can only improve, if you want to have more playing time, IF YOU...

Jerry Hawkins and a few of his Hummnbirds came all the way up from Kingston, and combined with a couple of 52+ metal bat guys, and 7 of the 45+ Albany Marlins had a great workout in the afternoon sun. It was a great way to utilize the last 60+ degree day that we will likely see around here until late April. Wit...

Once again, for the second week in a row, we were able to get enough guys to play baseball. Today's players were from the 25's, the 35's, and the 45's divisions in the CDMSBL. After all day yesterday and last night's torrential downpour, we were lucky to find a playable field like the one at South Gate Mid...

Is there someone out there that lives close to New Scotland that could let me know what the field looks like this morning. We are scheduled to have our last outdoor workout there at 2:00pm this afternoon.

This Saturday's Scrimmage/Workout has been cancelled due to inclement weather. We still have New Scotland for 2:00pm on Sunday. I say we give it a try. If the field is too wet we can always cancel. Lets go with it and I will post here if the field is too wet. See you all @ 2:00pm at New Scotland tomorrow....
