38+ - Cubs 6 - A's 1 (5/22 - Scotia)
(Preview)
First things first (which is what they always are because if they weren't first then they would not be the first thing and I would have a problem). Anyway, in my last post (5/11 A's vs. Peppers), Jim Dalton responded to a question with a story about a "Potato" trick. I'd like to say that I was all set to try i...

Reds 4 Hummingbirds 2 (38 over)
(Preview)
What a night for a game, cool and cloudy with a steady breeze at a soggy Bethlehem ballpark. Field conditions were marginal to say the least. It was good to finally play after a 16 day layoff. The Reds scattered 10 hits and scoring 3 runs in the 7th while the Hummingbirds spread out 6 hits through 7. Both pi...

Knick work day - Sat 5/27
(Preview)
I was informed this afternoon there's going to be a work day (morning) this Saturday starting at 8:30am at the Knick. The infield is going to be regraded and red clay is being laid on the infield surface.
This should greatly improve the drainage of the infield. We (CDMSBL) lost one game this week be...

Rescheduling rainouts
(Preview)
If you take a look at all three division schedules, you will see there's been 21 rainouts in the past 10 days.
This is extraordinary. We had almost 50% of our anticipated rainouts for an entire season occur in just 10 days.
Our managers have been diligently working to reschedule these games.

Speaking of rainouts
(Preview)
Da Bums in the 47's find themselves in the unfortunate position of having to make up a rainout on Sunday, May 28th. Our catching staff will be involved in previously scheduled "stuff". If there is a catcher who would like to get is some extra playing time. we could certainly use you. I can be reached at ei...

Since we aren't outside playing baseball.........
(Preview)
I'd thought a little exercise for the brain can't hurt.
Is it possible/legitmate to get four outs in one inning?
Please respond to this post with a "proof-of-concept" if you can think of a situation.

For sale
(Preview)
4 new pairs of baseball pants.
Gray, size large (waist 32-34).
Full length.
Sacrifice $16 a pair.
They are cut small and many of my players needed to go to XL from large. So, if you are a medium fit, the pants should fit well.
I didn't want to mail them back till I found out if someone in our leag...
