giants 14, peppers 3
(Preview)
kaboom!
not the skies for a change, but the giants' bats. actually, it was a pretty night at cba - a slight shower about 5:15, then blue skies, a little breeze, about 72 - and giants cracking the ball around the park. them balls traveled fast and far. according to our book, jim walters and pat alston l...

Orioles 13 Fordians 2
(Preview)
The Fordians used two walks, a double and a ground out to score two first inning runs before Bob Bolt and John Pologa combined to pitch no hit ball the rest of the way as the Orioles reeled off their fifth straight win.
The O's managed to score at least one run every inning as they pounded out 14 hits. Ma...

Hummingbirds 9 Reds 0
(Preview)
The Reds hitting woes followed them all the way to Gruner last night. Playing through some light showers at times the Birds played a great game. Kingston put up 10 hits and Bill Earl (hope this is right) pitched a gem, striking out 8 while throwing a 1 hitter through 6 with Latorre coming in to close the ga...

peppers 10, fordians 8

it was a lively if not altogether pretty game on a night when the rains held off at cba and the peppers rallied for the second game in row.
the fordians, who run the bases very well, struck first, with 2 in the first on a walk, a bunt single and an error. but the peppers used small ball to come back in the bo...

YANKEES 13 HORNETS 5
(Preview)
In a game played Monday the Yankees prevailed over a gutsy Hornet team. The score is not indicative how close the game was until the sixth inning when the score was 7-5. The Yankees scored 5 runs to break the game open and another run in the 7th. The Hornets had a tough break early in the game losing Ron Smak...

Giants 8, Pirates 7
(Preview)
Giants led 7-1 before the Pirates rallied with 2 in the 4th and 4 in the 6th to tie it.
Lounello and Comenski each hit doubles (would have both been HRs in many fields with fences) to drive in the tying runs.
The Giants squeezed out the winning run in the 7th. Rodney Smith reached on an error to start t...

Blue Jays 7 Reds 2
(Preview)
The Reds pieced together a team on Sunday with some borrowed players whom I might add did a great job. Thanks. It seems that with all the rain (we need some excuse) the Reds forgot how to hit. 5 scattered hits are not going to win games but give credit where credit is due, Shean (sorry do not know first name)...

Blue Thunder 7 Veterans 6
(Preview)
After too many rain cancellations over the course of spring, Blue Thunder finally got their second game of the season under their belts – and what a game it was. Behind the four hit pitching of Rich Garbarino (making his season debut) the Thunder walked away with a 7-6 squeaker of a win. With any sport, i...

CDMSBL is attempting to organize two teams for July 4 tournaments.
Portland, Maine - 38+ division (June 30 - July 2)
This is a wood-bat only tournament. We've participated in the tournament (I think) the past eight years. Three game format with playoffs. Eight teams in the division. While you...

6/11 Vets split DH
(Preview)
The Vets played an exciting game with Blue Thunder, but couldn't quite come back from a 7-0 deficit. Vets put forth a galant effort in the last inning, coming up with 5 runs, but fell short. Final score was Thunder 7, Vets 6. ( by the way, I gave out my score book to our statictcian so I can't remember names....

Elm Avenue Cleanup
(Preview)
A small but merry band of Pirates will be at Elm Avenue Park in Bethlehem this Sunday at 10:00 working on the field.
Right now, it is basically submerged and were looking to give Mother Nature a helping hand by moving some of that standing water out of there. At which point the sun can get to it and do it...
